Madden's First Friend & First Bat!

Madden's new friend Kayleigh came to visit last week. We have been waiting for so long to meet her. Kayleigh is my friend Kristin's daughter. She was born April 9th, so she's a month older than Madden. The rest of the Geneseo gang were here too. Becky, Liz, Audrey (and Natalie) and Michele came to hang for the day and meet the babies. I can't believe that we graduated 5 years ago. It doesn't seem that long ago. Check out the pics from Kayleigh's visit.

Here's Madden in her Geneseo t-shirt. We are so happy that it finally fits!

She looks thrilled, doesn't she?

Madden and Kayleigh playing...

Aren't they beautiful... They both look like their daddy.

Who knew Dan could be so cute??

Check out Madden's first bat. Kristin's parents had it made in Cooperstown for her.

Here is a close up of the inscription.

Here's a video of Madden. It's really not that exciting. It's so fun just to sit and talk to her. She loves to watch you talk and she'll coo back. I have started reading to her and she loves it. She likes to listen to me talk and look at the pictures. She's a ham in the morning. She has her father's disposition when she gets up. (I am not a morning person.) When I go over to get her out of her bed in the morning she smiles up at me. When she does that, I don't care what time it is.

Another smile caught on film!

First Family Vacation

We spent the week of the 4th on Madden's first family vacation. Alicia and Michael invited us to LaMocha Lake in the Finger Lakes, so we spent Sunday - Wednesday there with the Zarzyckis and Mom and Dad. It's a beautiful area, we even visited a couple Wineries while we were down there. Three wineries with 3 kids, not bad. We came home with 6 or 7 bottles of wine. We had a great time at LaMocha Lake, minus Hadley trying to kill Miles (Sorry about that... Michael: my lawyer said we aren't liable since Miles sharted on her :) ) Then we came home, unpacked and repacked and headed for Black Lake on Thursday to spend the weekend with the Soluris. You wouldn't believe what a difference one little person makes when packing the car. Thank God for the van. If we still had the Malibu we would have needed 2 cars!

Since our last blog we have accomplished a milestone: Maddenleigh is sleeping through the night! She eats around 8 or 9 pm and then doesn't eat again until 5 or 6 am. It's been great, I can't believe how much more rested I feel. We have also caught Madden's smile on camera. She is starting to smile more and more. Here is the first one I caught on camera.

I have lots of pictures from the week, I have attached a few. We had a great week with great company and weather.

Elyse is potty training, apparently the bear is too!

Is this a great look or what?
