It's been a while since I have posted and in the 3 weeks since I last wrote our beautiful fall weather has disappeared and the gorgeous red, orange and yellow leaves have been replaced with SNOW. That's right, I used that awful four letter word. Redfield picked up a couple of feet and Matt and I accumulated about 10 inches. It's hard to measure the snow here because of the open field we live in. The west wind blows the snow across the lot and creates drifts. I was pleasantly surprised when I got the 5am phone call announcing a 2 hour delay and absolutely elated when the call came that we were closed. It seems the snow was far to heavy for the trees and there were limbs and power lines down in Redfield. So, it was like the good old days and Madden got to spend the day home with Mommy. Grandma Hovey came to play with Madden so I could go out and stand our apple and birch trees back up. The snow accumulated on the leaves creating snow balls on the limbs that weighed them down. Mom got stuck in the driveway when she tried to leave so Matt had the pleasure of pulling her out and plowing the driveway ( = fun for him!) when he got home. Who would have thought we would have to plow the driveway in October! Madden is becoming more vocal than ever and I have posted some videos to prove it. She started saying "Dada" a little over a week ago, and shortly after she was saying "Mama." Everyday she amazes me. I still look at her and can't believe we created her.She started rolling from her back to her belly. The first time she did it, I missed it. I was in the dining room for 1 minute and I could hear her fussing. I came into the living room and found her on her belly. I was so excited I forgot to be bummed that I missed it!I am playing peek-a-boo with her here. I caught the end of it on video
This was the first night she started saying dada. Unfortunately Matt was at Open House and missed it.
